Kiln Drying the Wood

Then the yard workers load the wood into a drying kiln, a type of oven as big as a house. It is baked at a low temperature, 160 F., for between three days and three months, depending on what type of wood it is. The heat removes moisture from the wood so that it can be glued easily and will not warp.
